History
Timeline: the evolution of Elettric 80 from 1980 to the present day
1980 - Elettric 80 was founded in Viano as a software supplier for the logistics and transport sectors. It also designed and installed machinery for various vertical sectors.
1991 - Elettric 80-Bieffe acquired the license from NDC (a Swedish technology company) to use and develop laser technology in relation to factory transport vehicles.

1990 - Elettric 80 acquired Bieffe (Scandiano),a mechanical engineering firm with expertise in manufacturing industrial robots.
1994 - Freeway® is launched, the first fully integrated Robotic Palletizing and ground transport system that uses LGVs, complete with labelling and product tracking software and a PC monitoring system.
In this pioneering stage, Chairman Enrico Grassi works closely with Johan Castegren, who is today the Elettric 80 Managing Director, but who was previously at NDC, the suppliers of the laser system.
1997 - Elettric 80-Bieffe becomes a member of the Order of Research Laboratories of the Ministry for Education, the Universities, and Scientific Research.
1992 1994 1997 
1992 - Elettric 80 launches a world first system-a fully integrated laser-guided vehicle solution operating 24/7 in a plant environment.
The solution is developed for Costerplast (Coster Group), a manufacturer of plastic components for the pharmaceutical and cosmetics sector.
1999 - In May, 70% of Elettric 80-Bieffe is acquired by the Sasib Group.
The business objective is to develop and introduce the Freeway® system to a worldwide audience.
2004 - In January, following the SIG Group's sale of its Pack Division, the majority shareholding is reacquired by Enrico Grassi (Chairman), Johan Castegren (CEO), and Vittorio Cavirani (Technical Director).
In March, as part of the strategy to strengthen the sales and support network, two new branches are opened: one in the United States, near Chicago, and the other in Gothenburg, Sweden.

2001 - Sasib is acquired by SIG.
Elettric 80 becomes part of the Pack Division and is renamed
SIG Elettric 80 S.p.A.In November, Elettric 80 is awarded ISO 9001/1994 Quality Certification by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance.
2006 - First Elettric 80 system running in Australia.

2005 - Elettric 80 celebrates its 25th anniversary.
2007 - New branches opened in UK and Poland.
2008 - A new branch is opened in Australia.
The Viano Head Quarters (2008, December): new offices and new production facilities
2010 - Elettric 80 celebrates its 30 years.

2009 - Revolutionary new high speed robot DRAGON for beverage.
Launch of LGV fourth generation.
2012 - Elettric 80 inaugurates new branch in Moscow, Russia.2011 ... ...
