On October 1, Francesco Monica, R&D Project Manager at Elettric80, took part in the “DIAGNOSTICS AND PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE” webinar organized by Tecnopolo of Reggio Emilia, Fondazione REI (the Emilia-Romagna Regional Council's accredited innovation service) and Club Meccatronica.

The speakers brought expertise matured in various areas but focused their presentations on the advantages derived from implementing diagnostic and predictive maintenance systems in an industrial context: from performance monitoring and control to the identification of deviations from predicted functioning, and from the recording of unintended events to adjustment and maintenance work.

“At Elettric80 we are constantly investing in customer support and assistance services to maintain the added value of systems and intralogistic solutions over time, to satisfy whatever customer needs may arise during the life cycle of the plant, and to support companies' long-term business growth,” explains Francesco Monica. “In particular, we have developed software infrastructure for the diagnosis and preventive maintenance of our LGVs that enables us to collect and process vehicle data and flag up potential system anomalies in real-time, thanks to a dedicated server. Collected data are sent directly to a central system that identifies and warns of non-conforming situations. This system then either guides on-site personnel through the phases of investigation and repair or communicates remotely with the offices of Elettric80 to notify us that an intervention is needed.

Thanks to the constant control of the functioning of each individual LGV, this application guarantees increasingly rapid technical assistance and faster and more effective interventions to customers all over the world and avoids production shutdowns and damage to products.

On top of this, it also allows us to constantly monitor all aspects of plant performance and prepare technical reports for sharing with our customers. All this helps to make factories more sustainable and more reliable.
